Terms & Conditions
Last updated: August 2026
These Terms & Conditions (“Terms”) are a legal agreement between you and Jack Robinson Contracting Ltd covering your use of the Vamo mobile application, the Vamo website and any related services (together, the “App”). By creating an account, confirming the health declaration in section 5 or otherwise using the App, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the App.
Sections 4, 5, 6 and 7 are about your safety. Please read them before you train. They explain that Vamo does not give medical advice, that you are responsible for training within your own capability, and when you must stop exercising and seek help.
1. Who We Are
Vamo is operated by Jack Robinson Contracting Ltd, a company registered in England & Wales (company number 16969770), registered office 6 Vousden Grove, London, SE28 0PG, United Kingdom.
Contact: support@vamo.fit
These Terms are written for users in the United Kingdom and the European Economic Area, and are governed by the law of England and Wales (section 20). If you use the App elsewhere, including in the United States, section 22 sets out additional terms and you remain responsible for compliance with your own local law.
2. Eligibility
- You must be at least 18 years old to create a Vamo account.
- You must be able to enter into a binding contract and must not be barred from using the App under any applicable law.
- You must give accurate information when you sign up and keep it up to date. The programmes Vamo produces are calculated from what you tell us, so inaccurate information produces unsuitable training.
The App is not designed for, and must not be used by, children or young people under 18. If you believe a child has created an account, contact us and we will delete it.
3. What Vamo Is, and What It Is Not
Vamo is a consumer fitness and nutrition app. It:
- generates training programmes automatically, using our own algorithms applied to the profile, goals, training history, equipment and preferences you enter;
- calculates estimated nutrition targets and suggests meal programmes and recipes from those targets;
- uses artificial intelligence to write the plain-English explanation, rationale and weekly review text that accompanies those programmes (see section 9);
- records your training, nutrition, hydration and body-metric data, and can read from and write to Apple Health or Android Health Connect with your permission;
- where you have connected to a coach, lets that coach see your data, message you and adjust your programme.
Vamo is not:
- a medical device, and it has not been assessed or certified as one;
- a diagnostic tool, a monitoring tool for any medical condition, or a substitute for assessment by a doctor, physiotherapist, registered dietitian or other qualified healthcare professional;
- a substitute for in-person, supervised instruction on how to perform an exercise safely;
- an emergency service.
4. Not Medical Advice
Nothing in the App is medical advice, and nothing in it should be treated as medical advice. This applies to every part of the product, including:
- training programmes, sessions, exercises, loads, intensities and progressions;
- calorie and macronutrient targets, meal programmes, recipes, hydration targets and any nutrition guidance;
- any AI-generated rationale, explanation, weekly review, coaching-style narration or notification text;
- any figure, trend, chart or estimate derived from your data or from Apple Health or Android Health Connect, including estimated calorie burn, readiness, recovery or progress indicators.
Vamo does not diagnose, treat, cure, monitor or prevent any disease, injury or condition. No content in the App is personalised clinical advice, and no member of the Vamo team assesses your health or fitness to train.
You should speak to a doctor or another suitably qualified healthcare professional before you start or significantly change a programme of exercise or a diet, particularly if you have or have had any medical condition, are taking any medication, are pregnant or have recently given birth, are recovering from injury, surgery or illness, or are over 45 and not used to regular vigorous exercise. If advice from a healthcare professional conflicts with anything the App tells you, follow the healthcare professional.
5. Pre-Exercise Screening and Your Health Declaration
Before Vamo builds a programme for you, we ask you to complete a short pre-exercise screening based on the standard Physical Activity Readiness Questionnaire (PAR-Q) style questions, and to confirm a health declaration. You cannot use the training or nutrition features until you have actively confirmed that declaration. Ticking it is a statement of fact you are making to us, and we rely on it.
By confirming the declaration, you tell us that:
- to the best of your knowledge you are in good general health and physically able to take part in the exercise the App prescribes;
- you have answered the screening questions honestly and completely, including anything you have been told about your heart, blood pressure, chest pain, dizziness, bones, joints, or any condition made worse by exercise;
- where any screening answer indicates a possible risk, you have either obtained clearance from a qualified healthcare professional or you accept that you are choosing to proceed against our recommendation;
- you are not aware of any medical reason why you should not exercise, and you are not exercising against medical advice;
- you will keep your answers up to date and re-confirm the declaration if your health, injuries, medication or pregnancy status change.
If a screening answer flags a potential risk, the App will tell you what it is doing: it may decline to generate a programme, generate a reduced or lower-intensity programme, or show a warning and let you continue at your own decision. The rules we apply are documented and applied consistently. Whatever the outcome, screening is a safety net and not a medical assessment, and a programme being generated is not a statement that we consider you fit to train.
If you knowingly give false or incomplete screening information, you accept responsibility for the consequences of us relying on it, to the extent the law allows (see section 16).
6. Assumption of Risk and Your Responsibilities
Exercise carries an inherent risk of injury, and in rare cases of serious injury or death. That risk exists in any training programme, including one generated by the App. Risks include, without limitation: muscle, tendon and ligament strains and tears; joint, back and bone injuries; falls and dropped or misused equipment; overuse injury from training volume or progression; dehydration; heat illness; fainting; and cardiac events. Loaded, high-intensity and endurance training carry higher risk again.
By using the App you voluntarily accept those risks and choose to train. You agree that you are responsible for:
- deciding whether any prescribed session, exercise, load, distance or intensity is appropriate for you on the day, and reducing it or skipping it if it is not;
- training within your own capability rather than to the number on the screen. Vamo prescribes targets from your profile and your history, not from watching you train;
- learning and using correct technique, warming up and cooling down, and getting qualified in-person instruction on any movement you are not confident performing safely;
- checking that your equipment is safe and suitable, that you have a spotter or safety pins where a lift needs them, and that your training environment is safe, including traffic, weather, terrain, water and heat when you train outdoors;
- your own hydration, nutrition, sleep and recovery, and for adjusting or resting when you are fatigued, ill or under-recovered;
- the health, safety and supervision of anyone training with you.
Do not attempt any exercise you do not understand. If an exercise, load or distance looks wrong, unsafe or too aggressive for you, do not do it. Tell us at support@vamo.fit so we can look at it.
7. Stop If You Feel Unwell
Stop exercising immediately if you experience any of the following, and do not continue the session:
- chest pain, pressure or tightness
- severe breathlessness beyond normal exertion
- dizziness, light-headedness or feeling faint
- an irregular, racing or pounding heartbeat
- sudden or sharp pain, or pain in a joint, bone or the back
- nausea, unusual sweating, confusion or blurred vision
- numbness, tingling or weakness on one side of the body
- anything else that feels wrong to you
If symptoms are severe or do not settle quickly, call the emergency services (999 in the UK, 112 in the EU, 911 in the US) or seek urgent medical help. Do not use the App to decide whether symptoms are serious, and do not wait to finish a session or a streak. Do not restart training after a significant symptom or injury until a qualified healthcare professional has told you it is safe to do so.
Pain is not a target. Muscular fatigue and mild soreness after training are normal, but pain, particularly joint or back pain, is a reason to stop, not to push on.
8. Nutrition, Hydration and Meal Content
Nutrition targets in the App are estimates calculated from the information you enter, using standard population formulas. They are not prescribed by a dietitian, they are not personalised to your medical needs, and individual requirements vary widely.
- Do not use Vamo’s nutrition features if you have, or are recovering from, an eating disorder or disordered eating. Calorie targets, weight tracking and streaks can be harmful. In the UK, Beat runs a helpline on 0808 801 0677.
- If you are pregnant or breastfeeding, have diabetes, kidney, liver, heart or metabolic disease, take medication affected by diet, or are under the care of a dietitian, follow their guidance and not the App’s targets.
- Allergens and intolerances: recipes, meal programmes and food data shown in the App, including data from third-party food databases such as Open Food Facts and any barcode lookup, may be incomplete, out of date or wrong. Always check the actual product packaging. Never rely on the App to tell you whether a food is safe for an allergy, intolerance or medical diet.
- Vamo does not recommend, supply or endorse supplements, and any mention of one is not advice to take it.
- Hydration prompts are general reminders. Drinking to a target is not appropriate for everyone, and drinking excessive amounts of water can be dangerous.
9. AI-Generated Content
Parts of the App are produced by artificial intelligence. Your training and nutrition programmes are generated by our own algorithms; the explanations, rationale, weekly reviews and coaching-style narration around them are written by a large language model hosted in the European Union by Amazon Web Services (Amazon Bedrock), acting as our processor.
- AI-generated text can be inaccurate, incomplete or misleading, and is not reviewed by a human before you see it.
- It is general information, not personalised professional advice, and section 4 applies to it in full.
- Programmes are produced automatically, without a human deciding that a given session is right for you. You can ask us to review a programme by contacting support, and you can change or ignore any part of it.
- Please report anything that looks unsafe or wrong to support@vamo.fit. Reports genuinely improve the safety of the product.
10. Health and Training Data
Using the App means giving us health-related information. Under the UK GDPR and EU GDPR most of it is special-category health data, and we process it only on the basis of your explicit consent, which you can withdraw at any time. In summary:
- What we collect: your profile (age, sex, height, weight, body composition), goals, training experience, equipment, injury notes and screening answers, your logged workouts, meals, hydration, habits, check-ins, progress photos and body metrics, messages with your coach, and, with your permission, data read from Apple Health or Android Health Connect (steps, heart rate, sleep, active and resting energy, workouts, water and weight).
- What we write back: with your permission, workouts, water intake and nutrition macros are written to Apple Health or Android Health Connect so your records stay in sync.
- What we use it for: generating and adjusting your programmes and targets, showing your progress, letting your coach support you, and operating and securing the App.
- Apple Health data specifically is used only to provide App features to you. It is never used for advertising or marketing, never sold, and never shared with third parties for their own purposes, in line with Apple’s requirements.
- Your control: you can withdraw health-integration permissions in your device settings at any time, export your data, correct it, or delete your account and data from Profile → Account in the App.
This is a summary only. The full detail, including our legal bases, retention periods, sub-processors, international transfers and your rights, is in our Privacy Policy, which forms part of these Terms.
11. Coaches
Where you connect to a coach through an invite link, that coach decides what to send you and how to advise you. Coaches are responsible for their own qualifications, insurance and professional conduct, and for the advice they give. Vamo provides the software they work in. Connecting to a coach means agreeing that they can see the training, nutrition and progress data you share through the App, and you can disconnect at any time.
12. Subscriptions, Trials and Payment
Some features require a paid subscription, purchased through the Apple App Store as an in-app purchase. The price, billing period and any introductory free-trial length are shown to you in the App before you confirm, and Apple takes the payment.
- Subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each billing period unless you cancel at least 24 hours before it ends.
- If you start a free trial and do not cancel before it ends, it converts to a paid subscription automatically.
- Manage or cancel your subscription in your Apple ID settings. Deleting the App does not cancel a subscription.
- Refunds are handled by Apple under its own policies. We can ask Apple to look at a case, but we cannot issue App Store refunds ourselves.
- We may change prices or the contents of a plan for future billing periods. We will tell you in advance, and you can cancel before the change takes effect.
- If a payment fails, access may continue during any grace or retry period Apple allows, and will end if payment is not completed.
Consumers in the UK and EU: you normally have 14 days to change your mind about a digital purchase. By starting to use paid content immediately you ask us to begin supply within that period and acknowledge that you lose the right to cancel once supply has begun. This does not affect your rights if the service is faulty, not as described, or not supplied with reasonable care and skill under the Consumer Rights Act 2015.
13. Your Account
- Keep your login details confidential and do not share your account.
- You are responsible for activity that happens under your account.
- Tell us promptly if you think someone else has accessed it.
- Provide accurate information and keep your profile up to date.
We may suspend or close an account that breaches these Terms, is used unlawfully, or where continuing would create a safety risk.
14. Acceptable Use
You must not:
- misuse, disrupt or interfere with the App or its infrastructure;
- attempt to gain unauthorised access to any system, account or data;
- reverse engineer, decompile or scrape the App, except where the law expressly allows it;
- use the App or its content to provide a competing service, or to train a machine learning model, without our written permission;
- upload unlawful, abusive, harassing or infringing content, or content that promotes harmful eating, extreme dieting or unsafe training;
- impersonate anyone, or present the App’s output as medical, clinical or professional advice to another person.
15. Intellectual Property and Your Content
The App, its software, exercise library, programme logic, branding and content belong to us or our licensors. You get a personal, non-transferable, revocable licence to use the App for your own non-commercial training. You may not copy, redistribute or resell it.
You keep ownership of the content you put into the App, including logs, notes, messages and photos. You grant us a licence to host, process and display that content so we can operate the App and provide it to you and to any coach you have connected to. We do not use your content for anything else without your consent.
16. Limitation of Liability
Nothing in these Terms limits or excludes our liability for:
- death or personal injury caused by our negligence;
- fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation;
- any other liability that cannot lawfully be limited or excluded, including your statutory rights as a consumer under the Consumer Rights Act 2015.
Subject to that:
- we provide the App with reasonable care and skill, but we do not warrant that it will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that any programme, target or estimate will produce a particular result;
- we are not liable for loss or damage that was not foreseeable, or for business losses, loss of profit, loss of opportunity or loss of data;
- we are not liable for the accuracy of data supplied by third parties, including Apple Health, Android Health Connect, Strava, food databases and barcode data, or for their availability;
- we are not liable for the acts, omissions or advice of a coach you choose to work with;
- where our liability can lawfully be capped, our total liability to you for all claims connected with the App in any 12-month period is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us for the App in that period and £100.
We are also not liable for loss you suffer because you gave inaccurate screening or profile information, ignored a warning in the App, trained beyond your capability, or continued exercising after experiencing symptoms described in section 7, except to the extent the loss was caused by our own negligence.
17. Availability and Changes to the App
We may add, change, suspend or withdraw features, and we may need to interrupt the service for maintenance, security or legal reasons. Some features may be released as beta or early access, in which case they may change or be removed and may be less reliable. We will not remove a paid feature you have already paid for without offering a fair remedy.
18. Termination
You can stop using the App and delete your account at any time from Profile → Account. Cancelling a subscription is separate and is done through Apple. We may suspend or end your access if you breach these Terms, and we will tell you why unless we are prevented from doing so by law.
19. Complaints and Changes to These Terms
If something goes wrong, email support@vamo.fit and we will respond as quickly as we can. We may update these Terms, for example when features or the law change. If a change materially affects you, we will give reasonable notice in the App or by email before it takes effect, and continuing to use the App after that means you accept the updated Terms.
20. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have exclusive jurisdiction. If you are a consumer resident in the EEA or elsewhere, you keep the benefit of any mandatory protections of your local law and may be able to bring proceedings in your local courts.
21. Apple App Store Terms
These Terms are between you and us, not Apple, and Apple is not responsible for the App or its content. Your licence to use the App on an Apple device is limited to the devices you own or control, as permitted by the App Store Terms of Service. Apple has no obligation to provide support or maintenance for the App. If the App fails to conform to any applicable warranty, you may tell Apple, and Apple may refund the purchase price; beyond that, Apple has no other warranty obligation. We, not Apple, are responsible for addressing claims relating to the App, including product liability claims, claims that it fails to conform to a legal requirement, and consumer protection claims. We, not Apple, are responsible for investigating and defending any third-party claim that the App infringes intellectual property rights. You confirm you are not located in a country subject to a US Government embargo or designated as a terrorist-supporting country, and that you are not on any US Government restricted party list. Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these Terms and may enforce them against you.
22. Additional Terms for Users in the United States
Vamo is operated from the United Kingdom and these Terms are drafted to UK and EU standards. If you use the App in the United States:
- Vamo is a general wellness product. It is not a medical device, and its statements and features have not been evaluated by the Food and Drug Administration. It is not intended to diagnose, treat, cure or prevent any disease.
- Vamo is not a HIPAA covered entity or business associate, and the health information you give us is not protected health information under HIPAA. It is handled as described in our Privacy Policy.
- Some US states limit or prohibit the exclusion of certain warranties or liabilities, and give consumers additional rights, including automatic-renewal disclosure rules and, in states such as California, specific privacy rights. Where that is the case, those rules apply to you and the relevant limitation applies only to the extent permitted.
